Expedition Highlights

Discover the wild spirit of Morocco on an unforgettable 5-day expedition through the High Atlas Mountains — a journey built for those who crave challenge, culture, and connection.

Our route weaves through untouched terrain and culminates in the summit of Mount Toubkal (4,167 m) — North Africa’s highest peak. Though non-technical, the climb demands grit, focus, and a passion for the mountains.

Expect sweeping panoramas, rugged ridge lines, and the warmth of Berber hospitality — shared mint tea, laughter, and mountain life at its most authentic.

After the mountains, Marrakech awaits — a city alive with colour, spice, and sound — where the hum of the souks and the glow of the evening call to prayer mark the perfect end to this Moroccan adventure.

A trek of altitude and attitude — where the mountains reveal both Moroccan culture and Atlas life.
Mt Toubkal suits a fit and strong  level of hiking ability

  • Yes for sure you can book Hassan who will show you a side to Marrakesh reserved for the few. The cost is €100 in total for the full group. Pay him direct after your expedition.

  • This is not a technical climb, and you don’t need any experience, but having a certain level of physical hiking fitness helps.

  • Nearly 60% of our customers book to travel solo. The average group size is 6-10 on this trip and an average age of around 25-65 but this can vary.

  • Spring / Autumn are best to do this trip as the city is not too hot and night time temperatures on Toubkal are a little warmer than winter. They are still often below freezing though – bring layers!!

  • Yes, of course! If you would like us to extend your stay either side then just ask.
If you choose to arrive early or depart later than the stated itinerary then there is an additional cost of €70 for a private transfer.

  • If you have dietary requirements and or food allergies, please let us know prior to departure. Moroccan food is excellent though not particularly varied. Breakfasts usually consist of bread and ham with coffee or tea. Meals eaten out are reasonably priced – kebab and bread cost only about MAD 70. In main towns, it is possible to find very good French and Moroccan restaurants where a meal and French wine are very reasonably priced from MAD 220 upwards. Generally, dinner is likely to cost between MAD 80-120 depending on what you drink. Bottled drinks are available at very reasonable prices, but alcohol is not widely available in Morocco due for cultural and religious reasons. But still, in some hotels and restaurants, you will be able to purchase beer, wine and spirits, but you will pay imported prices. Please be aware of local laws, believes and traditions, and be very sensitive and respectful while consuming alcohol.

Vegetarians can be catered for but there is a fairly limited choice. This is particularly the case in rural parts of this trip.
Vegans and those on gluten-free diets may find this region very challenging and may need to supplement meals with their own supplies.

  • You can leave any luggage not needed at the hotel in Marrakech.

To embark on the Mt Toubkal expedition, participants should possess a reasonable level of fitness, however the climb is suitable for individuals without prior experience.
