Quick update – over night the team established camp one the Abruzzi ridge fixing a new rope to the camp at 19.850ft as previous bad weather had buried the previous route. The teams high altitude Sherpa got equipment ie tents gas 4000meters of rope moved into position up a 45% continues climb to camp one….

Jason has covered 200miles/322km in around 8h 20mins.  Time gained early on has now been lost due to the toilet break and helmet change.  A long way to go and when he gets back up to speed he can bring it back in.  Good to see the smile back on his face.

So all systems are go from the Velodrome initial laps are looking great.  Jason is getting comfortable and into the groove.  The photos below show the mornings preparation and official bike and record check lists.  Chris ‘Hoppo’ Hopkinson is our Chief Official with his father Peter second in command.  Stop watches at the ready guys….

24h Track World Record Attempt build up Our build up to the record attempt has been super positive.  A great day spent at the Velodrome.  Jason has fine tuned the aero numbers with Uk aero TT & track specialist Dan Bigham from WattShop  Some solid prep laps have been recorded today.
