Having done a number of expeditions over the last 10 years, I can safetly say Black Mountaineering offers the most comprehensive experience in terms of learning, growth and development. Jason and Sharon have established something with a unique selling point here..this is not a travel company..this is something greater. If you want to build out your skillsets in the mountains and have immense fun along the way then look no further.Posted on Mel McMahonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I’ve recently completed a couple of expeditions with Jason Black Mountaineering, each one progressively more advanced, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. As the technical difficulty increased, so did my enjoyment. The challenges were demanding without ever feeling overwhelming, largely thanks to Jason and his teams exceptional knowledge and calm, professional approach. Jason and his team didn’t just lead the route—they took the time to explain techniques, offer expert advice, and encourage me to push my limits safely. Their guidance has genuinely helped me develop my skills and feel more capable as a hiker. I’ve come away from each expedition feeling more confident, better prepared, and eager for the next challenge. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Jason Black Mountaineering to anyone looking to progress and truly enjoy their time in the mountains.Posted on Shaun MoffittTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Just after completing the wm7s with jason. Even though I really enjoyed the summer m7s I thought this trip was alot better. For me personally it took me out of my comfort zone and offered a different and fresh challenge. I thought Jason, Steve and the rest of the team really stood out to keep us safe and didn't leave a stone unturned when it came to teaching the new skills required. Meeting the morrocon team going to there house for tea is also an added bonus on these trips. Looking forward to doing more trips in the future. Hopefully again next year.Posted on Donal GillespieTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Very professional all round team. Jason and the mountain guides certainly instill confidence in your abilities above those I considered I had. Extremely safe supports provided from the minute the expedition started. I would highly recommend anyone to use Jason and the guides he selects on the Kilimanjaro trip. Outside of the climb I was delighted to see and hear the sights and sounds of Africa.Posted on Brian CreedonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Super experience with amazing new friends. Jason and the team were simply top class and there to assist whenever needed. The food was excellent, the scenery and climbing out of this world. The training and empowerment of us as shepards, rather than sheep, was enlightening. Overall, a hugely fulfilling adventure with a team whom are now all my new friends! If you are thinking about a trip with Jason Black Mountaineering .....Just do it! You will not regret it.Posted on Mohamed BassaidTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It genuinely was an experience. Collaborating with you and the Black Mountaineering crew has significantly influenced me not in the mountains but also in my general attitude, toward adventure. I have gained knowledge about collaboration, leadership and planning which has boosted my confidence in tackling obstacles both in the mountains and elsewhere. I also valued observing how you manage safety, motivation and encouragement, for the group. It demonstrated the significance of fostering an encouraging atmosphere in any expedition. Joining the team. Watching how you lead has motivated me to develop my own guiding skills to listen attentively to adjust to various circumstances and to genuinely appreciate the individual experience of everyone, on the path. I've also come to understand the significance of patience, perseverance and modesty when confronting both mental obstacles in the outdoors. This week has shown me again why I am passionate about the mountains and has strengthened my admiration for adventure as a means to learn, contemplate and bond with people. I’ve gained not skills and insights but also memories, friendships and a refreshed clarity of purpose, in both my career and personal life. I truly appreciate the advice, support and insights you provided. They have been valuable throughout the journey. Thanks more, for all your help and I aim to apply these teachings in all my pursuits as well as share some of this wisdom with others while I keep mentoring. Thank you so much for the incredible week in the Atlas See you next timePosted on Brian ClearyTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I started high altitude climbing in 2018 and have travelled with the good, the bad and the ugly across Nepal, Africa, Central and South America. This year I started to work with Jason Black and have summited Mera Peak and 7 Summits in Morocco with him and his Company - I’m now working with a man and Company that are simply Gold standard Olympic Champions in this field. Jason and his Company have had a massively positive impact on my life goals and where I want to progress to in the high altitude climbing sphere. The 2 Expeditions I have successfully navigated are night and day from previous experiences in terms of preparation ( mental and physical), equipment, administration, Guide quality, In-expidition training and motivation which has ultimately built a level of confidence I’ve never had before. Jason and his Team have been transformative for me. If you are reading this Review and are new to this space or are considering a different path like myself you really don’t need to look any further. In 3 months I will attempt a double summit of Island Peak and Labouche Peak and all down to guidance from Jason and his Team - Onwards and UpwardsPosted on Cess HoldenTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. An incredible experience. Jason and 12 strangers started, 13 friends finished. The two words that sum up the experience are camaraderie and trust. We had the toughest of weather conditions but that only made us stronger. And we had the privilege of watching at close hand all of Jason's mountaineering skills in action. An amazing leader, an amazingly humble man who inspired us all to be the best versions of ourselves. Thank you Jason for the memories. This will not be my last Jason Black Mountaineering experience. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 15 months later.... If you want to get from A to B, go with a trekking company, if you want memories that will last a lifetime, book a Black Mountaineering adventure. I'm just back from yet another adventure with Jason. Why do we keep going back? Because Jason's values tick all my boxes. - You are part of a team with a shared goal. It means so much more that the team achieves than the individual achieves. - Every adventure pushes your boundaries, whether it be bigger skills, greater resilience, tougher challenges, you are constantly challenged. You find hidden depths of strength in yourself and in others you never knew you had. That buzz of collective achievement is a drug, you just have to keep coming back for more. - Total immersion in the local traditions and culture, giving back to the community that welcomes you is just as big a part of the adventure as the exhilleration of standing atop a mountain summit. We were invited to our guide's home and 20 of us sat mesmerised watching his son prepare and serve tea in the traditional Moroccan way. We learned so much in that time and felt so humbled and so genuinely welcome. You'll never find times like that in a guidebook! - And finally, Mother Nature. Always in charge, always at the epicentre of the adventure. Listen to her silence, breath her rhythm and you will find your own soul. My own journey with Black Mountaineering has been amazing. I started out fit but green, very very green. And now I've just had my first experience of real winter mountaineering, battling the elements and battling myself. I'm still green, but in a very different way. I've learned so much. About the rest of the world out there beyond my limited horizons, about the power and peace of nature, and about me too. I'm strong enough to know my strengths and I'm becoming strong enough to embrace my weaknesses. I'm incredibly proud of what I have achieved. And equally aware that I've only scratched the surface. That's why I'll keep coming back.Posted on Liz DwyerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My journey with Jason Black Mountaineering has been transformational. I started climbing with Jason on the 4 in 44 challenge, progressed to the 7 Summit hikes, then on to the Atlas Mountains, Mera Peak in Nepal, and later returned for winter skills training in Morocco. Each step felt like a natural progression, expertly planned and delivered. Jason’s guide team is exceptional—professional, highly skilled, and genuinely supportive. The people you meet within the small group trios are phenomenal, creating an environment that is motivating, inclusive, and confidence-building. Jason’s safety standards truly set him apart; everything is layered, considered, and meticulous, which allows you to push yourself while feeling completely secure. One of the most remarkable aspects of training with Jason is how confidence develops almost invisibly. You don’t notice it day to day, but then suddenly you realise how calm, capable, and assured you feel on the hills under his guidance. Over the past three years, I’ve developed into a much stronger mountaineer, both physically and mentally. The structured, layered system Jason operates has given me the confidence to attempt harder climbs and begin working toward huge goals—goals I couldn’t even comprehend when I first started with him. Jason doesn’t just guide climbs; he builds mountaineers. I couldn’t recommend Jason Black Mountaineering highly enough for anyone serious about developing safely, progressively, and with genuine purpose in the mountains.Posted on Amalija LiovicTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently completed a Mountain Skills 2 training session with Nathan, and it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. Nathan’s attention to detail is second to none — he made sure every aspect of the training was clear, well-organized, and tailored to our abilities. One of the most memorable parts of the training was navigating the mountain at night. What could have been a nerve-wracking experience instead felt completely safe and well-managed thanks to Nathan’s calm leadership and expertise. He always made sure we were comfortable, confident, and aware of our surroundings, turning what could have been a challenge into an exciting adventure. Beyond his technical knowledge, Nathan has a real gift for creating a positive learning environment. His enthusiasm for the mountains is contagious, and it made the whole experience both educational and deeply enjoyable. I walked away from this training feeling more skilled, confident, and inspired. I can’t recommend Nathan and his mountain skills training highly enough — whether you’re new to mountain adventures or looking to sharpen your abilities, you’ll be in excellent hands.
